“Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said: “Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me; with burnt offerings and sin offerings you were not pleased. Then I said, ‘Here I am—it is written about me in the scroll— I have come to do your will, my God.’ ” First he said, “Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased with them”—though they were offered in accordance with the law. Then he said, “Here I am, I have come to do your will.” He sets aside the first to establish the second. And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.”

Hebrews‬ ‭10:5-10‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The sacrifices & rituals that were according to The law (God given), and also practiced with such great reverence and dedication, did not please God. “Sacrifices and offerings you did not desire.”(V5) It wasn’t enough to forgive or erase the sin of man. The sin of man was still so present before them but more importantly, before God. They were an, “annual reminder of sins.”(V3) Year after year the priest would preform the same sacrifices that could not take away thier sin. (V11) “It is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sin” (V4).

“But a Body you prepared for me” (V5) God Him Self prepared the ultimate sacrifice. The one that would satisfy His righteous wrath. The one sacrifice that would do away with all sin. Jesus said, “Here I am” (V7). “Here I am” willing to take the place of men-willing to be crushed with the wrath of my Father" “Here I am“ to be the propitiation that would set man free from their dept before God.

Jesus also said, “I have come to do your will, my God.” (V7) God's will since before the creation: send His Son to die for many. (Ephesians chp. 1)

Christ came, “to set aside the first to establish the second” (V9) The first: the sacrifices of bulls and goats that can not take away sin. The Second: The ultimate, one and only, Sacrifice Of Jesus Christ that not only covers but ERASES our sin. Now God has made His believers, “ holy through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ once and for all.” (V10)
