God bless everyone who is reading this. I am very thankful with the Lord that He gives me the privileged to be able to start blogging. It’s been a desire I've had in my heart for years now. For one reason or another it hadn't happen, but I believe it’s from the Lord I get to it. I wanted to start with talking about the title I've chosen for my blog.
What do I mean with the term "Divinely Loved"? I mean the amazing, all powerful, unchangeable, delightful, most satisfying love of God.
About a week ago I was reading a devotional written by Charles Spurgeon about the love of God. I came across these words that really spoke to me:
"As the Father loves the Son, Jesus loves you. (John 15:9) It's in the same manner of love that the Father gives towards Jesus Christ that Jesus gives to you. We can discover more about this love when we examine it closely...the Father loves the son without measure. And this same immeasurable love is given to you. Take comfort in that. Find joy in that. Delight in that. The whole heart of Christ is yours, my friend. It is dedicated to you. He loved you so much that He gave His life for you. (John 3:16; Ephesians 5:2) His is love that passes beyond understanding. He is a precious Savior who loves you without measure, without change, without beginning and without end. Even as the Father loves Him. Oh, how I pray that you will grab hold of these truths and embrace them fully. May the Spirit cause this to bring you comfort, assurance and gladness as you go about your day" (Charles Spurgeon)
This hit me hard. How often, brother and sister do we hear about the love of God and simply feel nothing, but a sinful thought arises "I’ve heard that before". There is no greater love like God's. Oh, what more satisfying love can there be? Can our spouse, children, parents even brothers or sisters in the Lord love us with such a perfect love? We fail every day. We even fail to love God, but His love remains the same. Even us Christians, stray away, searching for other things to satisfy us. We create idols in our lives and forget that only God can satisfy.
Psalms 103: 8-14 (NASB) “The Lord is compassionate and gracious, Slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness. 9 He will not always strive with us, Nor will He keep His anger forever. 10 He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. 11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth, So great is His lovingkindness toward those who fear Him. 12 As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. 13 Just as a father has compassion on his children, So the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him. 14 For He Himself knows our frame; He is mindful that we are but dust.
Amazing love isn’t it? God is so good to us. In those moments of joy or discouragement may we always have in mind the great love of God. Those who trust in it and hope in it are humble. They remember how good God (The Creator the All Mighty) has been with them even though they are but dust. Oh, how amazing, how refreshing, how satisfying, how humbling is His great love!
Amen Sister
